Joseph Watkin is a powerful, new and home-grown British singer-songwriter. His music is derived from personal experiences of teenage angst and his lyrics pay homage to every magnified emotion imaginable. His words are sung with passion and conviction, using his natural ability for storytelling.
Born and raised in and around Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire, he started at a young age, and coming from a very musical family picked up the guitar fairly quickly and naturally. Although his talent for writing was as yet unknown to him, at aged 15 he began performing on the local acoustic circuit as a solo artist, where he honed in on his talent and tested the water.
Aged 18 Joe moved to London and to the intimate surrounds of the The Rock Garden in Covent Garden, it was here he played his official debut showcase to an attentive audience. Amongst whom was the producer of an innovative new TV show called 'Live From The London Studios'. This lead to him filming a live performance of his record 'Emily' to a large studio audience at the Southbank Studios.
November 2006 saw Joseph complete the first leg of his 'Live & Acoustic' tour calling at cities across the Uk, ever since, Joseph has taken each show in his stride, confidently performing a catalogue of his heartfelt songs.
His debut album 'See Straight Through' is currently in the works and is to see the light of day sometime in 2009.
